Internal Platforms

Summary: AMICON has been contracted by EPCI contractor Van Oord for the supply of the Internal Platforms for the Sofia Offshore Wind Farm. Sofia is located in the North Sea on Dogger Bank. With its 1.4 GW, Sofia Offshore Wind Farm is one of the largest offshore wind projects in the world. AMICON has played a major role in the development of this product in this project. Our engineering has developed a fully customised product for this project.

Coating:
Amicon has set up an in-house blasting and coating cabin at its production location in Sneek to provide all 100 platforms with a 3-layer C4X coating system. The sand blasting and coating of the platforms is carried out completely by Amicon and checked for quality according to our internal procedures. In addition to the coating system, all railings, platforms, columns, various cable and ladder supports are hot-dip galvanized.

Assembly:
The complete Internal Platform is assembled at our location in Sneek. The several parts are built into one whole onsite. After the structure has been completely assembled, the cable trays, earth cables, platforms, ladders and gratings will be installed and the platforms will be tested in the presence of the customer.

Transport:
In addition to manufacturing and assembly, AMICON provides all of the transport, over water, of the Internal Platforms to Newcastle upon Tyne. The Internal Platforms will be loaded at the quay in Sneek and shipped to the storage quay by means of a seagoing coaster according to incoterm CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight)
