Stiff boom cranes

Summary:
AMICON has designed and supplied two hydraulic stiff boom cranes for the research vessel Wim Wolf of the NIOZ (Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research). Because the ship has to operate in very shallow water, AMICON has created an extremely light design. The cranes are made entirely of aluminum. The cranes are equipped with a main winch and an auxiliary winch. RIBs are launched using the main winch. The auxiliary winch has a larger drum with which soil samples can be taken at high speed. The cranes can operate completely independently due to the integrated HPU. Plug and play!

Specifications:
Material: Seawater-resistant aluminum
Coating according to 3-layer system Sigma
Maximum lifting capacity: 600 kg
Driven by hydraulic cylinders, slew bearing and winches
Integrated HPU

Assembly:
AMICON has installed the stiff boom cranes on the ship. The foundations for the cranes were also supplied by AMICON. All pivot points of the cranes have been developed completely maintenance-free.

Engineering:
The entire product development and engineering of the cranes are provided in-house by AMICON. Both the construction and the system have been developed based on client specific wishes.
