Mainboom

Summary:
AMICON was commissioned by SMST to manufacture a main boom for a knuckle boom crane. The crane will be placed on board a W2W (walk to work) vessel. The main boom consists entirely of steel. AMICON took care of manufacturing, machining and coating.

Machining:
AMICON took care of the complete machining of the main boom. The connection points to the connecting parts need to be of an exact fit. The eyes for the cylinders were also provided with a fitting holes.

Coating:
The Mainboom is sand blasted to SA 2.5 and provided with a C5M 3-layer coating system. The machined surfaces are protected during coating and afterwards provided with a protective layer of tectyl.
