Winch drums
Summary:
AMICON manufactured 4 winch drums including base frames. The winch drums and frames will be used for overhead cranes for pipe handling on a seagoing vessel.
Specifications:
Material: S355J2+N with full traceability and 3.1
Additional requirements: 40 joule at -40 degrees Celsius
Coating: C5M 3-layer systeem
Manufacturing in accordance with EN 1090-2 EXC3
Manufacturing, welding & finishing:
The tube sections on both ends of the middle tube of the winch drums are preformed out of steel plate. Thereafter the cable grooves were applied on the turning machine. After assembling and welding the drums to the middle tube, the axels of the drums were machined. The four base frames completely consist of sheet metal and are machined after welding.
Coating:
Winch drums and the frames are SA 2.5 shotblasted and coated with a 3-layer C5M system (Zandleven).
