Infoversum Groningen

Summary:
AMICON built the dome for the Infoversum in Groningen. Infoversum was designed by the Groningen Architect Group Archiview. It was important to make better use of both the structural and material properties of different steel types. The dome, a metal eyeball, is the center of the design; the dome is the heart of the building and the bearer of the dynamics. The corten steel eye socket (skin) forms around the dome in a very special way; the skin and dome do not touch anywhere. The openings in the skin allow a play of light in the space. Due to the play of light, the lounge looks different at various times of the day.
